After a trophy rich season, Leicester City Ladies Foxes were nominated in the Under 19s Team section of the Leicester Mercury Sport Awards, but on this ocassion they went home without a trophy with Hinkley Colts picking up the award.

Leicester City Ladies Under-13s set themselves a major task in following an exceptional under-12 campaign. They posted a 100 per cent record to win the County Girls League and completed a spectacular treble by winning both the League Cup and County Cup without conceding a goal.

It was not only on the local scene, though, that they enjoyed success. They won tournaments in Skegness and Birmingham, capping the season by seeing off the challenge of 31 other sides to lift the prestigious Nottingham Victoria title. They have not made a bad start in following up those triumphs. So far this season they have posted 11 wins from 11 games and have also set out in search of more cup glory as they remain the team to beat.

Manager Louie Carr – who has a long association with local football at a variety of levels – says the team has not developed by accident. He points to a number of highly-talented players but adds that their achievements are also down to the dedication shown by all members of the squad.

They thrive on three-touch football, keeping the ball moving – an approach that has proved too much for all their rivals in the past couple of seasons.
